In 2025 Friends of Paraguay was pleased to have been able to award five grants totaling $5,640

Pig production for breeding and rearing: $1,185
Department: Paraguarí, District: Tebicuary-mi, Compañía: Punta Guasu.

Implemented by the Comité de Mujeres María Auxiliadora.

The Project focuses on pig breeding and rearing production project that will strengthen the productive capacities of the members of the María Auxiliadora Women’s Committee, promoting self-management, the use of local resources, and the improvement of family income through sustainable and profitable production. The direct beneficiaries of the project are the 15 families belonging to the María Auxiliadora Women’s Committee, with 90 indirect beneficiaries.


Sustainable Production of Dual-Purpose Chickens: $1,175
Departament: Paraguarí, District: Tebicuarymi, Compañía: Syryka.

Implemented by: The Comité de Mujeres Syryka Centro

The Project will establish a family-run, dual-purpose (meat and egg) chicken farm using a sustainable approach. Participants will receive a small batch of birds, training in management, a balanced natural feed, and health monitoring. A model community chicken coop will be built to serve as a demonstration center. 16 families belonging to the Syryka Centro Women’s Committee will directly benefit from the project, an additional 120 families in the community will have access to high-quality eggs and poultry at lower prices.


Working for a Better Future for All: $1,175
Departament: Paraguarí, District of Tebicuary-miCompañía Alonso cue.

Implemented by the Asociación de Productores Apícola de Tebicuary-mí.

The Project involved the construction and installation of a carpentry workshop to build modern tray-type beehives for use of honey production, as well as space for an apiary. 25 members of the families of the Association will benefit directly from the  project with an additional 125 indirect beneficiaries.


Right to Family Planning: $1,165
Department: Asunción and Departamento Central

Implemented by Somos Pytyvohara

The project will conduct training workshops on contraceptive methods with a rights-based approach, where adolescents and young people can access clear, scientific, and unbiased information. The goal is to break down myths and stigmas surrounding sexuality, foster autonomy in decision-making, and provide practical tools that allow adolescents to plan their lives freely and responsibly. There will be 100 people that directly benefit from this project.


Children’s School Playground: $940
Department: Cordillera, District: Altos. Compañía: Candia 

Implemented by: Escuela Básica No. 1557 María Auxiliadora.

This project involves building a playground on the school grounds of Escuela Basica No. 1557 María Auxiliadora to create a safe and accessible space for play. 185 students aged 3 to 12 will directly benefit from the project. A PCV is involved in the project.
